Online Application for ToDo lists

In my ongoing quest for the Holy Grail of ToDo lists, I found a site that could just about be the right one. The site is called Stikkit. If you watch the demo you can see the amazing functionality of this software. For example. If you type lunch with Dave tomorrow at 12. It will add this appointment in your online calendar. If you say to copy Ted, Dave and Fran on the note, it will attach the note and email it to them. There are far too many features to list them all. They are on a fast track to add more features. Have a look at the screencasts for demonstrations.

Daylight Savings Windows Patch

This past week Microsoft released a patch for Windows to update the dates for Daylight Savings Time (DST) in Windows for North America in 2007. Previously we “sprung forward” on the first Sunday in April and “fell back” on the last Sunday in October. Daylight Savings Time changes to March 11 and November 4 in 2007. The reason behind this extension is to reduce the amount of electricity used.

This impacts everyone running Windows. Most of us have the automatic updates turned on. However, many don’t realize that the automatic updates are only for the critical security and bug patches. There are also optional software and Office upgrades on the Windows Update Site. You must  go to the site and manually download the optional updates, as the daylight savings time patch is one of those updates.

Skype

2006 is coming to an end and so is the free phone calls via Skype in the US and Canada. I previously blogged about the promotion whereby you could call any phone in the US or Canada, using Skype and not pay any long distance. However, don’t give up on Skype yet, as they have a new service. For $14.95 per year you can continue to call any phone in the US or Canada without long distance charges. I have been using this service for hte past 6 months and it is great. Little known feature is that you can forward your calls to your cell phone. For example. My family is in Vancouver, I am in Toronto. When they call me on Skype, if I am on the computer I just put on my headset and start talking. But…if I am away from my computer, the call is automatically forwarded to my cell phone. No charge to me and no charge to them. So click on the graphic below and download the all new version 3.0. Then sign up for the SkypeOut service. The special price is only available until Jan. 31, 2007. After that it will be $29.95 per year.
